After my race in Holland last weekend, I have had time for a little training block before I leave for Canada (Montreal) on the 27th of May. Unfortunately the weather has not been so good here in Belgium! So it has been a lot of training in the rain, wind and cold! Today we did a ride with a local club from where we live in Viane to France and back 150kms. It was nice to ride with a group and just relax. This Saturday we have a local kermes race 17kms away from the house which I am looking forward to doing. It will be my first Belgium kermes race for the year and it would be nice to get on the podium before Canada! The condition has been going good and I feel the races have lifted me. I have been feeling really strong and comfortable in the bunches and with the strong team we have this year it has really been a team success for the results we have been achieving which is important for the team and its sponsors! I’m now concentrating on the Montreal world cup which I think will be a race that suits me and the team. From there the next big race will be the Giro d’italia! This is a special race, so i hope to be in good form!
I have signed once again for the belgian Womens UCI team Lotto-Belisol. Based in Belgium,Lotto-Belisol is a professional hard working team! We have a great calendar and a great group of staff and riders that makes it a fun working environment.I am very happy about being apart of this team in 2009 and i hope to build on my results from last year and also look forward to alot of team success!
I will start my season with the team in Holland at the Drenthe world cup. I leave for Europe the end of march.
